This is not our war. We cannot be the world police. Obama is wrong. Take care of our own, first!
-
No, I don't, but what are you going to do? The people in charge seem pretty enthusiastic on sending armies everywhere without reason or thought.
-
No I don't agree. I stopped agreeing the minute Bush said "Osama is not a priority anymore" WTF are we doing there then? No one can give me a straight answer as to why we are there or what our mission is.
-
I am not there so I don't know what to tell ya.
-
i do not agree, if we were so concerned with other nations well-being we would be in Somalia. we are invading for natural resources and nothing more.
-
I do not agree with sending in any more troops.
-
many people may have tired of hearing about afghanistan and iraq, but fortunately important policy decisions are not made by people with fleeting attention spans, but rather logisticians with long-range goals. i agree that the people tasked with handling this situation know what they're doing

No I don't. (And to those who are going to ask it anyways- NO it doesn't make me regret voting for Obama!!!) There are hard choices there. Do we just up and leave it to the Taliban in Pakistan to come back and make it theirs again? Do we cut and run like so many Republicans claimed that Democrats do? Or do we stick it out and have Republicans claim that Obama is backing out of a promise? Damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

they don't make alot, just have to remove the troops from mc donalds.

Obviously we as a nation are divided as to weather or not we need to be in this war. But we are. Therefore our generals should get whatever manpower they request. It's unfortunate that we have a president that delayed this decision because of politics instead of concern for our troops safety.

No, America is not done with it. THEY are the ones who made all the grand promises of establishing peace and democracy in Afghanistan. THEY are the ones who vowed to destroy the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan permanently. NOW things are looking tough so they want to just leave a big chaotic mess behind? Don't start wars you can't finish! And the onus is just as much on American citizens as it is on the American government, who cheered in record numbers for the initiation of the war and silenced anybody who questioned it at the outset. Most people didn't become critical of the war until it became fashionable to be.

We need to either get in or get out. This pussyfooting around is doing nothing but killing our soldiers for no good reason.

Yes, I do....not only us but the whole world cannot give in or up on the fight against islam terrorists.....we aren't the only military force in there.....fighting them and trying to help the Afghans..... done with this ?? are the terrorists done? if these Arab muslim terrorists take over Afghanistan all will be lost.....islam wants to be the world rulers....if the Arab muslims take over Israel, (Iraq, Iran, Egypt, etc.) it will show the world their goal, rid the world of the infidels, all non believers!!!they hate Jews as they do any other....in Israel, these Arab muslims, in Israel, are just as determined as Hitler was, eradicating Jews...... it is not just a matter of Afghanistan.....it is a matter vital to all countries, they just hate America most of all, ALWAYS have.....

I'd be more in-favor of helping Iraq secure their own forces and shift troops back to Afghanistan. I fully supported the invasion of Afghanistan and I still agree with us being there; I wanted us there ever since we got done in Desert Storm, when the Taliban were taking hold. I can't stand those guys. I was very dismayed that we needed to get planes flown into our buildings to get us to go over there, and even then it was under the guise of capturing a guy who anyone with half a brain knows has been dead a long time. Bin Laden was on dialysis in the late 90s and looked like he was on his last leg; I don't know what moron thought he was hiding out in the Afghan hills, but America bought it and I'm happy we made an attempt to check the Taliban. Sadly, anyone who knows anything about the history of the region knows that even the baddest badass in badass history, Ghengis Khan, stepped to the region and said, "The only way to conquer this place is to kill every last one of them. So...moving on..." So while I hate the Taliban and I hate the idea of them controlling even a town in a province, the idea that it can be effectively prevented long-term without a constant military presence to keep them in check is delusional. So I really don't like either option - sending troops to die to keep the Taliban in check or taking them out and allowing them to re-take the nation - but I would certainly support the former agenda than the latter, no matter how long we have to do it.
