The creative process is a way of thinking specifically designed to think of new ideas and well, frankly, to be creative. The scientific method is a way of testing a hypothesis scientifically to fail to reject or reject your hypothesis. I think the goal may be the only difference. Both are creative approaches to answer "what would happen if..." In the creative process you are employing scientific method - taking your observations and exploring ways to express them. In the scientific method you are using the creative process - coming up with new ways to view the same information.
