How much heat can a bloodhound tolerate? My family is moving to south central Arizona in a few months, and I want to get a bloodhound puppy. I'm wondering if a bloodhound would be okay living in a dry desert environment.

Are you keeping the dog permanently outside or inside/outside dog? If both then yes the dog should be fine make sure it has fresh water, and its not sitting outside all day, and some shade. If its going to be outside, it would still probably be okay. But there might just be more to worry about.

Actually, I would worry more about whether a bloodhound is right for your lifestyle. I encourage you to do a LOT of research on the breed and talk to good breeders and in addition to some BH rescues. Many people give up BH's because they are not your typical family dog. They were never meant to be a "pet" in the usual sense.
