Because people can hide behind their keyboard, unlike saying things to people face to face.
This is the internet. What were you expecting?
Hell, I see that sort of stuff even here on AB almost daily!
I wondered the same thing!
I installed a little browser extension that hides them automatically so I don't even have to look at them.
I have no idea. I stopped going on youtube a while ago just because the people on it bring you down so much. I want to post videos of me singing, but I dont want people to be rude like they are to others. They're just immature and don't know how to be happy.
Two main reasons:
- Anonymity of internet users means that they can avoid being held accountable for their actions. Therefore, they simply do not care what they do as it has no affect on their non-internet lives.
- Correspondence on the internet is often considered to be casual, so people do not take their responses to videos seriously.
There are tons of reasons why.
* Firstly a lot of people in the YouTube community are actually under 13 Years Old ( No one younger than 13 is meant to have a Channel / Account on YouTube ), however, this is mainly the parents fault for not watching out for there kids online and over the Internet.
* Sometimes a lot of people act sarcastic or joke about a lot of content on YouTube ( normally regarding popular material on YouTube ).
* Another reason is that a lot of the time some people get into arguments with other YouTuber' s and start saying random and meaningless comments, also sometimes some people tend to send tons of comments on YouTube that have been rushed or not well thought through ( A good example is when people insult another Country or insult YouTube directly. )
* The next reason is that on YouTube and also on a lot of popular websites we get what are called " Trolls ", these are people who seem very unintelligent and are very aggressive on YouTube in order to get a hilarious response from another angry YouTuber, this is why some people need to know not to argue with a Troller on the Internet. One problem with this though is that sometimes it can be difficult for someone to tell if someones rather very unintelligent or a troll.
If you have trouble with them, just come up with a well thought out and intelligent comment ( You might want to use Auto - Correct ), however, if you are dealing with a Troll, then rather Block them from communicating with you ( however this will not work if they send replies to you on another video that has not been uploaded by you ) or just ignore them.
I was wondering why, too. I know it's the internet, but the Youtube comments I've seen are far too stupid...even for the internet. Poor grammar, no logic. It's why I don't have a Youtube account. I'm only a viewer. I think it's best to not associate with Youtube's community or just block comments on your videos.
The screamers are fun to use on annoying, creepy cousins, though...

You're reading Why are YouTube comments so incredibly stupid? I mean really really bizarre, unintelligent comments, almost to the point that you think they were typed by 3 year olds. What is wrong with YouTube users?
