Do you have relatives who always seem to need some kind of help whether money or emotional support? How do you deal with them? (2009-11-22)

They're my relatives, I give them anything they need. That goes for my friends as well.

At first, yes. I give them money and support. But, as the same ones keep coming back for more, whether it is money or wanting me to listen to their tales of woe, I begin to put them aside and resent their incursion into my life and bank account.

Just the way you seem like you already have. You identify that they will always be that way and provide all that you can but within your means and what works for you. We all have them so you're not alone!

As far as emotional support, isn't that what families and friends provide? . As far as money, we have been in that position. Within reason I didn't mind, but some left us feeling we hasd been royally used. . Those have been told that we are not able to help everyone and have our own kids to support so we will lend them money. . Those that do not pay it back can forget an=bout borrowing any more.
