Help answer this question below.
I have had the unfortunate experience of living there yes.
Preached to? Quite often. I've had folks tell that god was gonna punish me for my getting to the parking spot before they could.
I've had my tires slashed, my house vandalized, late night anonymous phone calls, and had a couple of my housecats 'disappear'.
They tried to make me feel like a bad person. But I'm not.
It is just a question! NO NEED FOR THE DR! Here is +5 to put you back into the positives!

If they knew you well they would know you are not out for an argument! You simply asked a question!

No. I don't associate myself with people who want to make me feel like shit for my religious belie.....oh wait. I'm on AB half the time. Nevermind.
Lived in it all my life. Moving to a larger city helped. I used to be approached by people often in my hometown that wanted to take me to church or help me become 'saved'. Sometimes friends, sometimes complete strangers. While that still happens occasionally, it's less frequent and there's less pressure. For the record, only Christians have approached me about my faith (or lack of.) The Muslims and Jewish people I know have always been very happy to tell me all about their religions after I've asked them, but have never once asked me to join them in prayer or ceremonies. To be fair, it's overwhelmingly Baptists that become bothersome. Other Christian sects seem to have a softer touch when it comes to preaching to non-believers.
I used to live in the deep south and to be honest with you it didn't seem as bad as anywhere else. People in the Bible Belt DO love them some Jesus, but I've experienced more "moral" browbeating and promise of Hell living in MD than I ever did in the South for some reason.
Regardless, yeah it happens to me and it doesn't seem like something people claiming to have the higher moral ground would do.
Have you ever thought that maybe it's you, making yourself feel like such a bad person? After all, unless you let other people have a lot of power over you, nobody can make you do anything that you don't want to do.
What's your reaction to Christopher Hitchens' passing?
He was a brilliant debater and wordsmith.

You're reading Atheist: Do you live in the Bible belt? Do you always get preached to or made to feel like a bad person for not believing?
