That's what the referee does, the trainer can't stop a fight unless he/she throws a towel into the ring. I think that's where the expression, throw in the towel comes from.
how many proffessional boxers are in the uk? and how many amateurs in the uk? any one know and where you got the info from to? thanks

Efficient (good, but simple) drills for boxing? Hand-speed, stamina, footwork, etc. that don't acquire fancy equipment (do-at-home drills)
