  • Yes. Their food is probably healthy or they may just work out alot.
  • Well, why wouldn't you trust them. Maybe they are naturally skinny, maybe they workout and watch their weight. Or... Maybe they have worms and you hope they have washed their hands before handling the food. Maybe they put poison in the food and if they eat any they might die too... Maybe they aren't even human and are aliens spying on our eating habits (good if you're paranoid about aliens spying on you eh?)... Or maybe they have some kind of wasting disease that they once caught from a skinny chef and now in revenge they are passing it on...to you who are eating their food....hahahaha (Okay I'm better now)
  • I don't know; I have never seen one....LOL
  • Of course! You know they only make the best food and rarest cuisene :)
  • definately, my husband was a chef & restaurant manager for many years, i trust him in my kitchen whenever he wants to cook, what wife wouldnt,
  • Sure. When I was a kid, the BEST doctor in this area smoked 3 packs of cigarette a day. He was great with all of his patients, just didn't take his own advice. In other words, he may design delicious "fattening" foods, but not necessarily have to EAT them.
  • Chefs work hard in hot kitchens. Younger chefs tend to be thinner and older chefs might have a bit more. Chefs that leave the kitchen, now that's a different story. But you at least have to hope that the chef enjoys his own food, since you are paying for his palate (maybe that *should* be palette when we talk about chefs) when you eat at his restaurant. By the way, it's: "Never trust a skinny innkeeper" :)
  • Tyler Florence rocks skinny or a little heavier like he is now.
  • Indeed, they can taste their own foods in small amounts and not gain weight.
  • Yes. Giada DiLaurentiis is very thin, but her recipes are terrific! I have all 3 of her cookbooks. Great stuff.
  • Depends.. I would trust him to make me a sandwich but not to go on all you drink holiday with my girlfriend... So depends really...?
  • It's a matter of quality, not quantity.
  • Of course. Being skinny these days means that you are eating healthy, staying away from fattening food. Fat is cheap. These days it is not expensive to get very fat, with all the cheap junk available everywhere. A skinny Chef reflects discipline and a good eating behavior.
  • Not necessarily. If they are thin because they don't taste their food to check on the seasonings or doneness, even if things come together right, then no. I see too many people never tasting their food and they will tell you that they don't want to get fat. Well, there is no way you can tell how things taste without tasting. Food ingredients are different every day, every batch, even with different seasons and temperatures. The very best cooks and chefs I know or have seen, all have at least a little extra poundage.
  • Size is irrelevant; trust a chef with credentials.
  • Of Course! Fat is cheap. Cooking good tasting, quality food while staying skinny or fit is not an easy task. I would want to know what they have in their menu so I can try it myself.
  • Most of the chefs I know (I work in a restaurant and I see them come and go) spend all day cooking then when they go home can't be bothered cooking and eating, because they're around food all day. So often tasting the food is all they eat!
  • NO. Not even when she's a roommate's girlfriend. As beautiful as she is, she can walk into a clean kitchen to boil an egg and, when she leaves two hours later, all the pots, pans, colanders, strainers, and utensils will be strewn about completely filthy. Forks and spoons will be bent and knives will be chipped, dulled, bent, and broken. The egg will be lying in the middle of the linoleum, cracked and leaking, and she will head upstairs to lie in bed and try to remember what she was doing for the past two hours until she lulls herself to sleep with the sound of her own mumbling. NO SKINNY CHEFS.
  • I am a skinny chef, I taste everything, eat everything, just never gain weight. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
  • a big fat one who know how to eat there own cooking first!!!
  • as a chef who has enough time to worry about his size, i admit that i have problems GAINING weight. my kitchen nickname is "Flaco" (skinny), albeit respectfully said. Customers don't ask about my weight (unless im in the dining room flirting with the bar, it comes up) , should you judge my food so readily? My passion is making delicious food and presenting it beautifully, not making food so i can eat it at other's expense. I practice and experiment often with my own money to find the right flavor. Should I stop exercising in order to get my return?
  • Yes, they are working their ass off. I can say this because I am one
  • Yes'm you can. look at around 80% of food networks chefs. look at all but one of the Iron Chefs. you can trust me... im 6 foot 160 lbs and im a kumu chef at tommy bahamas in st armands circle.
  • of course you can, many good cooks are a bit chubby ,probaly since they like there own food so they eat it, but you cant realy tell by my experience though for some reason skinny chefs seem to work more on how it looks and fat ones perfer the taste but not always
  • Skinny chefs are more selective and have higher standards of what they eat. That's why they're so skinny! Ok I just made that up. But I'm a skinny chef (as a hobby) and you can definitely trust my cooking, it's great.
  • I don't trust Sandra Lee.
  • Nawwwwww. Unless they are a Healthy Foods Chef. Case in point: Giada Delaurentis. I'm sure there is a big, fat old Italian granny hiding in her broom closet or soemthing. http://www.giadadelaurentiis.com/about.html
  • yes i would im a chef and im not fat !
  • not only trust but also respect. ANYTHING IS great in moderation...fat chefs are kinda gross imho.
  • the person who asked this question is not a chef right?
  • i have a skinny teacher chef but the saying is never trust one because he OR SHE doesn't try their own food...
  • I waitressed for many years and most of the chefs I knew WERE skinny! I think they worked so hard and such long hours they never had time to eat properly - plus I think they got sick of the sightof the fancy stuff they made so when they did eat they would eat something simple like a cheese sandwich!
  • Some chefs are blessed with a good metabolism - and the discipline to work out. Others, not so much. IMO, fat chefs really are a stereotype.
  • Why not? If he's naturally skinny, that's got nothing to do with the cooking. At least have a bite!
  • yes sure! the size of the chef has nothing to do with his/her cooking
