Can U plz give me the correct usage of the words 1)adrift 2)notch 3)however 4)despite 5)although

    The pirates set their captives adrift in a small boat with only a notch cut into each side to take oars. However, the notches weren't deep enough for the oars to be used effectively. Despite having no tools to make the notch deeper the castaways made it to safety, although that was entirely due to luck.
