I don't think they forgot...the idea of such a flag has been thrown around for a while. I imagine there's a very specific reason why they haven't done it. This may not be the reason, but questions are all assigned their very own ID number, which allows them to be identified and flagged. Answers don't have their own ID number as far as I know, hence making it a tough system to implement.

I thought that was one of the things they were going to add. I guess not. It would have been VERY useful, though. Being able to flag duplicate answers would make everything more professional looking. Maybe it has something to do with points. If someone got points for the duplicate answer, would the points be taken away, added to the other answer, just left alone... Maybe it was just too complicated.

This could be possible evidence that they are human and forgot to do it. The other possibility, however unthinkable to many, is that they do not think it necessary.

I don't think a flag for a duplicate is needed for answers. Duplicate questions are much more annoying.
