According to the Terms of Use a 'Bagger needs to be 14 or older. Anyone younger than that is breaking the rules, and particularly raunchy questions go in the adult section, so there is a sort of censorship.
-
There is censorship on here. Although there are much worse ways to have one's innocence shattered than...Answerbag.
-
And how exactly would we go about doing that? In any real way other than saying "You can't be here." Or "You're not allowed in the adult section."
-
Screw censorship. And screw the one's employed to censor us. You have to be 14 to be on here anyway.
-
No one underage will "stumble" onto the adult section. Kids that go there don't need their innocence protected.
-
No. The whole business of "underaged innocence" is a myth,Youth are much more sophisticated today than 30 or 40 years ago. All censorship accomplishes is limiting free speech. Yes, keep out hardcore pornography, but leave everything else alone.I'm offended by the lack of civility shown by many AB members, but I would never suggest censoring it. If you don't like it, the "Unsubscribe" button is easy to use. +4

It seems to me there are two parts to this. . One is subject matter, and I don't believe that we can protect them from that. Even when I was a child, what our parents didn't teach us or discuss with us we "learned" on the street, although what we heard there was frequently wrong. . Now with the internet etc., they are going to have access to material no matter how we try to prevent it. . I think it is much better to talk with them openly than pretend something just doesn't exist. . A second aspect is choice of language, tolerance, respect for differing opinions, making sure you know what you are talking about. . This is not somethng you can sensor. It is up to all of us to be as responsible as possible. . Knowing not all will be, well, that is a fact of life they will have to learn to deal with as well and by others comments etc. where one has not been, they will hopefully learn to be responsible themselves.
