Terms having to do with skin, or medical issues and treatments related to skin.

    Eczema would be one example.

Dermatology is the medical discipline pertaining to the skin.

Since dermatology is a very visual medical specialty, one of the first things we do in dermatology residency is learn how to describe what we see very accurately. That means learning many dermatologic terms, that is terms related to skin structure, function and disease.

Interestingly if you learn how to describe what you see on the skin very well, it is easier to figure out what the disease is, as many diseases can actually look like each other.

Examples: epidermis, hyperpigmentation, psoriasis, papule, crust, erythematous, etc, etc.
