Why has Islam been allowed to leak into and transform the national identity of so many countries in Europe, spreading as far as the remote Scandinavian countries of Sweden and Norway? Why can't it be stopped?

I think it is a matter of 'Political correctness' gone overboard. The same thing is happening in the U.S. it is time for the ninety percent who believe in God (not Allah) to stand up and tell the the other ten percent to sit down and shut up.

Scandinavians altered the cultures that they came into contact with. The Goths, Huns & so on altered the culture of the Roman Empire, which in turn displaced, reappropriated and altered Greek culture... which was influenced by the cultures of Egypt and the Near East. That's what culture is - contact, change, flow. There are no static "national identities" that can somehow be "protected". History tells us that this idea is a myth. In any case, Western culture has been defined, for many hundreds of years, through its encounters with Islam - read Edward Said's great classic, _Orientalism_.

I recon its simply because people are frightened to say anything incase they are accused of racism, and i think it needs to be sorted out.

You describe people of the Islamic faith as if they were some kind of virus.They are people, no worse or better than anyone else.There is no such thing as a fixed "national identity"; The general character of a nation is and always has been in flux. Why should anyone be "stopped" as long as they are not harming anyone; the mere presence of a group of people does not constitute harm. The entire tone of this question is like the rhetoric in Germany in the 1930's about another group of "different" people.

It is due to the Political Correctness brigade, we (the people) have been stabbed through the heart by our own political class. By allowing Islam to spread - unchallenged, they are giving away our birthright to freedom. Future generations will pay the price as personal freedoms and civil liberties are curtailed and the Muslims turn Europe into some Afghanistan of the 22nd Century. To be honest, I'm struggling to answer this question as I simply don’t believe what is being implied. Why is Islam in every European country.... because we fought 2 world wars to ensure people had the freedom to worship what they want. Why cant it be stopped, because in the modern world the message of Islam is hitting home with more people than any other religion. I don’t see this as being any different to when Christianity was allowed to 'leak into & transform' the settled, traditional European life of Paganism..... same shit, different day!
