A 16 year old was ticketed for driving 27 miles over the speed limit in Colorado and given 6 points and requirement to come to court. What can she expect? Can she lose her license?

She can yes. 27 mph over is a SERIOUS speeding violation. If this is her first major traffic offense, and she owns up to it and behaves in a mature and apologetic manner in court however, she may get off with some points and a fine. Don't be surprised though if the judge isn't this lenient. He/She doesn't have to be. Just cross your fingers and show the judge that you have learned you lesson, and recognize the danger you put others in.

It depends on the drivers previous traffic record. three moving violations in a year will get your driverls license revoked. If this is a first offense, ask to attend the defensive driving class. it will cost approx. $44.00. Once the class is successfully completed, the points will be removed, the insurance company will not be notified and the citation will be dismissed. 90% of drivers use this option.
