  • Why did someone Neg the question. The answer is YES. In fact, not only is it condoned, but it was commanded by the LDS god to lie. God commanded someone to lie, who was it?
  • Here, since the Mormon population on AB is to afraid to answer this. Let me give it a try. YES, the Mormon god not only condones lies, he/she commanded it. The Book of Mormon: "And he answered: Yea, Lord, I know that thou speakest the truth, for thou art a God of truth, and canst not lie." (Ether 3:12) Hum, well at least at this point in time, the god of the LDS has them believing atleast he/she can not lie. "Wo unto the liar, for he shall be thrust down to hell." (2 Nephi 9:34) Interesting, it appears the the LDS god takes a lie very seriously. The Pearl of Great Price: "...the Lord said unto me: Behold, Sarai, thy wife, is a very fair woman to look upon; "Let her say unto the Egyptians, she is thy sister, and thy soul shall live. "And it came to pass that I, Abraham, told Sarai, my wife, all that the Lord had said unto me -Therefore say unto them, I pray thee, thou art my sister .... "(Abraham 2:22, 24, 25) Ah, so much for that honest truth. Appearently "lying for the Lord" is an established practice in Mormonism. Now this is just LDS scriptures. I will probably get a lot of neg points, perhaps one comment.
  • That's kind of like asking, "Does your car condone driving through red lights?" God (or the car, in this instance) is the Way to reach a desired destination. How you choose you use that vehicle is up to you (free will). One would be well advised though to understand the possible consequences of not using said vehicle RESPONSIBLY.
