My guess is that such a pratice should be stated at the time of being hired. On the other hand if they attempt to do it later I really have no idea of what your practical choices are - either pay it and move on, quit the job, or sue them if you have the resources and time to follow through. Lost of things are not right, legal or fair and it will always be so. +5
if i had to guess i'd say it is up to the restaurant.
If the sign says 55, but they won't stop you unless you're going 70, what is the speed limit? Is it what the sign says, or the cop?
