In computers, LED monitors, which have a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio (one million to one, not a missprint). LED lightbulbs are just around the corner too. I think we'll see LED tv's too eventually.

I'm not sure about the next immediate advancement, but I think that eventually computers, TV, and house phones will eventually be merged into one device which could also regulate heat, a/c, lighting, etc. I believe that utility companies will eventually receive readings electronically rather than send meter readers to your house.

I believe the cell phone companies will develop a chip that gets surgically planted in your head. No longer will we have to carry a cell phone with us. We become the cell phone. Alot of these companies that build this new technology really make people out to look like they are insane with some of these gadgets.

A car that would no longer be dependent on fossil fuels.

I'm thinking technology is moving towards the direction of wireless. They want everything to be wireless. They want a person to be able to walk in to their house with a new stereo system, put it next to their TV/DVD/Blue Ray/Whatever, push a button, and have it all be connected. So I think it will be something wireless that will make installation as simple as possible. Whatever it is will be the big final push for everything to go wireless. Consumers will think "That was easy" everyone will buy it, and every company will start making everything wireless.

Advancements in nanotechnology will reform the economy. Products will be cheaper and stronger, but there are also some risk with nano particles, this has to be studied first. Nanotechnology could also be used for complicated surgeries or as medicine for diseases. There are so many applications, this technology will definately have tremendous impacts.

probably some kind of house that cleans itself etc that or mobiles in your head!!!

We will have a chip in our arm that will store all our information checking account, credit cards medical records and will act like a GPS device. MARK OF THE BEAST!

... something to do with electrical storage/production ... ... either electrical storage devices vastly superior to current batteries, so an electric car/truck/train can go for several thousand kilometers, then recharge/replace in just a few minutes ... ... or a safe, portable device that can produce electricity, so a vehicle can make its own electricity, and homes & large buildings no longer need to be connected by the power lines that are always getting knocked by storms ...
