According to Revelation 20:15, "If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." The "book" is apparently a list of all those who have been granted forgiveness of sin, eternal life and admission to heaven. Like many of the symbols of the Bible, I am convinced that there is no *literal* book... a physical collection of parchments, papers or vellum with pencil or ink marks representing people's names or other identification that could be lost or altered, but rather the list probably resides in the eternal mind of God and the "book" is a symbol representing that list. Whether or not the book is a literal book or the information contained in the mind of God concerning those who will be permitted into heaven, it is called "The Book Of Life". As recorded in REvelation, it contains the names of all those who have been washed in the blood of Jesus, that is those who have given their life to Him.
