A lot of people treat Answerbag like a game where gaining points is the be all and end all. The easier a question is for a lot of people to answer, the more points it will receive.
-
I guess they are bored, its that or duplicate questions like this.
-
I asked a similar question when I was relatively new here - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/577722 . The best answer I ever saw on a similar question was "That ain't the way we roll, here."

I agree with Brian and Spicy. People are bored, think asking questions is fun and/or want extra points. I've noticed questions like "What color shirt are you wearing?" get a LOT of answers and points for some reason.

Sometimes it's more interesting to find out what real people think. Although I tend not to ask googleable questions.
-
Boredom and the need for human interaction.
-
To waste people's time I guess.
-
Maybe they have googled the answer, but they want a majority opinion.
-
I use Answerbag sort of like a Sociology lab. It's always interesting to see how people react to different issues or ideas and how they respond, as well.
-
I don't know. Why don't you google your question? lol
-
Some would rather ask the question and get points than do the research themselves and get the answer. Happy Monday! :)
-
There are a few people who do it for fun - a quiz type thing. They know the answers. Others, well... not the sharpest tools in the box.
-
Because people want other people's opinions on why their parakeet won't eat thier diarrhea.
-
The social intercourse.
