Let's see...Carrie Prejean...Sara Palin...GOP. I think it is because they don't know or realize that's where they are. They are unaware of actual reality. I think deep sea divers can become twisted around and sometimes think "down" is "up" and so they sink to their deaths. That may be what is going on. They live in a topsy turvy world where down is up and so they sink. :)

You're reading The first rule of holes, "When you find yourself in one, stop digging." Why is it so hard to follow such a simple rule?

You're welcome Jim and thank you for the compliment. I have heard of this potential danger for deep sea divers. It is called "intoxication" or something. Scary! :(

Yes, I saw a documentary about a deep dive where it actually happened to one of the dive crew. Fortunately, the rest of the divers were able to get him back to the surface safely, but he actually fought those trying to help him.

I have sensitive ears and I can't even go down to the bottom of an 8-foot deep pool without my ears hurting. I know it has to do with the pressure and I'm sure their diving suits and helmuts can offset that but I would never be brave enough to try it. I think I'd get claustrophobic and panic. Snorkeling on the surface of the water is something I could manage. I know there are very beautiful things on the ocean floor and I'll never see them up close and personal. :)
