I would love to live near an airport! I could have the world at my feet and be able to jump on a plane to anywhere I wanted. Instead I have to either travel on three or four busses; hire a taxi that would cost more than the flight or pay a fortune on airport parking (which also means taking the husband to drive me there). When can I move?

I live beside the busiest International Airport in the world! Heathrow!
It is nowhere near as bad as people think regarding noise!
    I love it here!

    Over and Out

My in-laws lived in a home only a few minutes away from O'Hare Airport for over 60 years and it wasn't that bad really. I never even noticed the noise and O'Hare is certainly one of the largest airports in the world!!

I think I could handle it. AND, it's so convenient.

No, I wouldn't. My childhood was spent growing up next to an airport, and everytime a big plane flew over, our house shook. The roar was terrible. Planes flew over even at night, until about 9 pm. or so. I think that's why I have trouble concentrating on things today----the noise distraction always interfered with my attention to things.

No thank you. I stayed in a hotel one night by an airport and we didn't sleep at all because all we did was hear those planes off and they are loud. I will pass on that.

I do. You get use to it after a while, well, sort off.
