I commonly do 3 of them. The rest aren't chivalrous, They're Moronic.

I was abused so much for doing those things that I stopped about 30 years ago. Let the b*tch pull out her own chair. I'm sick of being called a male chauvinist pig. +1

Good manners are NEVER out of date. I open the car door for my wife, I hold her chair, I help her on and off with her coat. It's an expression of love and respect. I quite frankly don't give a damn what anyone else thinks about it.
-
I let a woman walk through a doorway before me and help her with anything if she asks me. I tone down my language in front of them. That's it. This shit has become far too complicated.

i agree with the list those things are retarded dont do anything that a woman wouldn't do for you

I will go through them with my opinion: 1) Ordering for me - Don't do that please, I think its rude and presumptuous. 2) Letting me win - No thank you. 3) Using a code for the loo - Not necessary, just don't be gross about it. 4) Pulling my chair out - Sweet, I appreciate that. 5) Carrying my purse - No need, shopping bags/luggage would be a great gesture and I would appreciate it =) 6) Asking my dad for hand in marriage - Must do! 7) Not letting me tip/buy drinks - The gesture is definitely appreciated, but I would like to pay something at least, sometime! 8) Helping me put my coat on - Sweet to do, but really its more hastle than doing it myself. .... No wonder chivalry is dying, it must be so confusing for men to know what the right thing is to do! I think I wouldn't bother try much either.

My fiance orders my meal for me, after I tell him what I want because I have my shy moments. He doesnt LET me win at games, I beat him, cept for pool. He's pretty blunt about what he has to do like saying, "hold on babe gotta take a shit/piss" hilarious in public. He pulls out my chain because I'm usually getting the kids seated. He only carries my purse if my hands are full, or if theres something inside that he wants. He did ask my dad for my hand im marriage, which I thought was so sweet, my dad of course was happy. We play rock paper scissors for who pays the dinner bill, the loser pays the tip. And he always helps me put my coat on, gives him an excuse to kiss me.

I think you should always make an effort to make your lady feel special, so opening doors and carrying stuff are great, and so is walking between your lady and the street. The rest of the list seems a little excessive to me, especially ordering food.. That's something you do for small children, not a grown woman.

Why is this so hard for some people??? 1.Ordering my meal for me. She orders first. 2.Letting me win at a game. My wife would become rather agitated if she thought I "let" her win at anything. 3.Using a code term for going to the bathroom. Depends upon what you mean by "codeword." I usually just say, "I'll be right back." 4.Pulling out my chair. Just good manners, and a sign of respect. 5.Carrying my purse. Only if she asks. 6.Asking my dad for my hand in marriage. Just a nice gesture ... if you're younger than 30. 7.If you’re paying for dinner, not letting me put in for tip. It all comes out of the same kitty: a joint account. Sometimes we use my debit card, sometimes hers. 8.Helping me put me coat on. Just good manners, and a sign of respect

Helping them with their coat or pushing their chair in is alright.I don't think I need a babysitter,though...or do I?LOL! Seriously,I like a man with good manners who knows how to treat a woman.Who doesn't?

Here is my take on each: 1) Ordering for me - Unless I'm in the bathroom, and ask you to, don't do it. I find this incredibly condescending. 2) Letting me win - Now that depends on what we're doing. If I'm sparring my boyfriend in martial arts, for instance, yes I expect him to go easy on me. He is a bodybuilder, weighs almost 100lbs more than me, and it hurts ME when I punch/kick/block HIM =P If it's a card game, may the best player win. 3) Using a code - Why? To what purpose? 4) Pulling my chair out - I'm pretty neutral about this one. I don't expect it, and I will appreciate it, but it is not absolutely necessary. 5) Carrying my purse - The only scenario I could see this happening in is if I were totally encumbered by something else. Otherwise I won't ask. 6) Asking my dad for marraige - This I also find condescending. He should be asking ME if I'd like to marry him, not my father. 7) Not letting me tip/buy drinks - Only if we alternate. I like to do nice things for my guy too, you know. 8) Helping me put my coat on - Sounds like a hassle.

My thoughts: Ordering my meal for me. I don't mind if I let him know what I'm having and he orders it for me, but if I didn't state what I wanted to order and he just says, "Get her a ______," I will be upset. I want my food! Letting me win at a game of Scrabble/pool/bowling when you are clearly better. I don't care either way. I'd rather they be honest and not hold back - but don't be a jerk about it like "YEAHHHH! YEAH!" or "I'm a loser, wahh." Just have fun. Using a code term for going to the bathroom. I don't care if you go in detail about it, that's just one weird thing about me. However - that's only with my s/o and best friends. I do not want to hear that you need to take a huge dump if I barely know you. Pulling out my chair. I think it's very nice, who says it's outdated? As long as you don't pull it out even further to make me fall on my butt! Carrying my purse. My s/o carries my purse when I need to do something for a moment, I think it's super sweet that not many men would be comfortable to do. ^^D If you’re paying for dinner, not letting me put in for tip. I don't like for people to constantly pay for me, I want to pitch in too... equally. Helping me put me coat on. I think it's very polite. Who cares if it can get awkward with putting the arms in?
-
I don't know what chivalrous things I do. I know I do them, but I don't keep track. The most I get is a look of polite surprise occasionally, it doesn't freak them out though. I don't think it does anyway. o.O

I think the pulling out of the chair and helping them with their coat and carrying their bags is all good. Not so sure about the others though? +5
