  • It's possible there are bugs that need to be worked out. I have it but I don't use it. I use Firefox.
  • The short answer is no. It requires a bit of work and vigilance to be safe and is generally not worthwhile. IE has always been known for having GAPING security holes, and IE8 is no different. While you can set Active-X permissions by site, a well-written hunk of malware can give itself permission anyways and next thing you know, some bored kid in Germany has root-level access to your system. IE is the only browser that is dumb-tarded enough to allow that sort of remote access so easily and thus is probably the *least* safe browser out there.
