Maybe a hampster. I haven't been around many rodents.

Definitely Rat :] Because they are very smart and tough. If there is really going to be the end of the world, they will survive for sure ;p

The rat...I have had several of them. They are easy to train and quite smart. The only thing I don't like about them...is their life span.....they die to young.

Hampsters...I had them as pets when I was a kid. +5

rabbit, because they are so lovable and squishable and you can keep them as pets.
