No. I think that's awful. When my son was little, I couldn't wait for him to get out of school, so we could spend time together doing fun "summer stuff"!
-
If my kids wanted to go to summer camp I would let them. I don't think I would make them go though.
-
Only if it's a survival summer camp! They can learn to think fast on their feet and be very confident of their decisions! It's called common sense and it applies to everything in their future lives!
-
I went when I was a kid with my 2 sisters. It was good for us and it gave my mother a break. 2 weeks, not the whole summer.

I personally think, if you choose a good camp, it is one of the most beneficial things that can be done for your child. I attended a small camp for several years and now counselor there, and it was one of the greatest things I've ever done, and has greatly helped shape many of my values, especially hard work, respecting other people, and caring about people.

G'day Brew Guy, Thank you for your question. It depends on whether you can find a good camp to send your child to and he or she wants to go. It can help make them more self-reliant when they are away from home for the first time and help to make good friends. Regards
-
Yes, if you do research and find the right one for your child, they will have a blast!

In my opinion yes. As long as you do your homework and find a good camp. just like anything we do for our kids we need to check them out. Summer camp can be one of the best things for a child. All sorts of activities and things to learn. It also teaches good values and social skills. Some of my greatest memories were during summer camp.
