The new US health care bill is budgeted at $1.1 trillion over the next ten years. Could you please predict the actual cost? Can the US taxpayer afford to pay that much in new taxes?

$1.1 trillion divided by 300 million people = less than $3 500 per person. Divide that by 10 years, and you have $350 per person/per year. Sounds affordable to me.

government says $650 cost and $780 in new taxes. that's $260 a person a year. most of the new taxes are on the wealthiest 1% earning $250,000 or more. if you are that rich, $2,500 in extra taxes shouldn't bother you. 36% highest tax rate today is nothing compared to the 92% tax rate during president eisenhower after ww2. if the u.s. taxed offshore accounts, it could make $500 billion more EACH year!!! when you ask about the actual cost, i'm sadly disappointed that the cost of Medicare Part D was projected at $480 B, then, one month after passage it went up to $580 B, and, a few months after that, $1.2 trillion - boondoggle for rich pharmaceutical companies. my best guess is that the actual cost of the plan as its spelled out will be $1.2 T. the u.s.a. overspends on healthcare 37% or $925 B EACH year. if we cut spending 4.3%, we can pay for it.

Every lib says tax the rich!!!! ($250,000.00). Keep in mind that we are collectivly the biggest employers in the USA, As a small buisness owner of 25 years, that employs 14, the IRS says I make that much because of what they dont allow us to deduct. If we can't deduct buisness income it is considered personal income, My actual pay is less than 1/3 of that! Now, some Bozo, will say get a better accountant!! don't even go there, as your assuming I'm a novice. I use the best Tax pros and a Retired IRS exec. for accounting and tax advise, and there are none better!!! If they pull this BS off, I will have to eliminate staff just to pay for those whom won't work and wants the government to take care of them. Now multiply that by the thousands of similar companies. How many of you will loose there jobs to pay for this socialistic program!!!! Oh Now don't get all uppty because of my spelling, I'm at a kids football game, just read and understand the message!!

No one can predict the actual cost and there is no way in hell the United States is going to be able to afford this scam. 1.1 trillion is way lowball. We're already in hock to China to the tune of 2 trillion dollars and when PBO was there the Chinese cornered him about how he planned to pay it if he does health care and crap and tax with the economy in the toilet. The Chinese communists see what's happening in America and all they need do is sit back and wait for the American Congress to destroy in one year what took a lot of people over two hundred to build.
