think something over and over as you fall asleep. You can say it out loud or sort of sing it to the tune of a song in your head, if you like. It's best to start out with something simple, "I will run faster" "I am not afraid of spiders" "I will have good dreams" "I don't feel the need to smoke" ect. Do this a couple nights in a row or as long as you need- works wonders. Later, you can make them more complicated, ie "I am not afraid of spiders AND I don't feel like smoking"

Here is a self-hypnosis technique, be careful what you do though. I am not responsible for anything. Find some things you want to work on. Like self-esteem or cowardness. Think of the opposites that could help you. Like, "I am strong, I am brave, I am awesome". Find a place you won't be bothered. Put soothing music, candles, anything relaxing. Have a positive attitude when you perform this. Close your eyes and relax. Have your muscles drop to the ground and impossible to pick up. Tell every body part to relaxe. Then start counting down from 5. Thinking for every number you become more and more relaxed and by the time you get to 1 be in total relaxation. At this point make the positive suggestions. "I am positive, I am strong,..." When finished start counting up from 1 and by the time you get to 5 total awake eyes open. Through this whole process, be positive.
