What is your reaction when you see something extreamly scary for you? (close your eyes, run, look back, paralyze etc.)

It did happen one time on a dark night in the outback of Australia ,not a breath of wind ,and not a star in the sky.3 of us around a camp fire ,and out of the darkness come a figure we could not tell what it was it made a groaning noise, we my 2 mates were off and gone i was frozen to the ground i could not move, then something grabbed me from behind ,i lost it i screamed out so loud i awoke the dead ,and then my mate slapped my face and said run you silly bugger run, and like the wind i was in full flight, and caught up to my mates ,we never went back to the camp until daylight ,packed our gear and left, to this day i do not no what it was i was so scared .but it was there as 3 of us all seen it.and i have never camped there again i have been back in the area many times.
