  • I don't know what the answer is to this question. My opinion is that the problem lies in the minds of the gun user, and the work to fix the problem should begin there. In the meantime, it also might be a good idea to make it more difficult to obtain guns.
  • We kill each other. It's a sad, sad fact. We did it before guns, and we'll still do it even if all the guns simply go away. The real question is: Do we make it illigal for innocents to purchase a weapon to defend themself with? Will disarming people make it harder for people to kill, or just harder for innocent people to defend themselves. Remember what stopped the killer: A gun. Probably a few of them as he was shot several times.
  • The soldiers on the base were not armed. Sure there are tons of guns of guns there, but it is training base and they are locked up unless they are training with them. If the soldier were all armed I'm sure the Muslim terrorist would be hamburger meat by now. Since this is the 3rd base to be targeted I wouldn't be surprised if they start letting the soldiers be armed from now on.
  • Seeing how the victims were NOT armed, but the MP who stopped him WAS armed pretty much answers your question
  • How do you compare a neighborhood with a military base?
  • People also kill people with knives, before knives and guns i would imagine people killed people with rocks, and big ass wooden weapons called clubs, people will always kill each other until this mentality changes and we evolve more.
  • i dont know. were the people that were killed at the base armed? obviously the police cannot protect us from this type of thing, they can only clean up after it happens. its the truth! so in order to protect ourselves we must either rely on ourselves or God..... i rely on God but i think every person - felon or not - should be allowed to arm themselves to defend themselves
  • Yesterdays masacre @ Fort Hood military base is a prime example of how that theory absolutely measures up considering who shot him.
  • If some of the victims resulted from friendly fire, what do you say then?
  • Anyone can get a gun anywhere on this planet anytime they really want one. That doesn't mean the government is entitled to take everyone's guns and rifles away. What you going to do if you need to start a revolution? Throw rocks at the government? It is true that guns don't kill people, people kill people and with guns. If I had been at the scene of the recent massacre, that dude would have been dead. I carry a concealed weapon under a license. My opinion? It is pathetic that he got away with so many murders on a military base. A military base! Think about how weak that makes us, and there is no denying it. They had to call in the doughnut heads to save a frickin' military base!
