Can a question be an answer to another question and have an answer itself?

    Yes. The question, "Why not?" answers the question, "Why?" and can get a whole slew of answers. I can come up with lots of replies to "Why not?"

    Let's break this down:

    1) Can a question be an answer to another question? Yes. Another way to phrase it is, "Can I answer a question with a question?" The question "Why?" is a good example. The answer could be "Why not?"

    2) Can the aforementioned answer/question "Why Not?" also have an answer? Yes. That question/answer, "Why not?" can, itself, have lots of answers.

    Sure for example: Why do we get a fever? And the question: We get a fever because our body is fighting of a virus, but how does the virus enter our body?-answers the first question.
