  • Could be a dead coil. Could also be a broken timing belt. Make sure your cams are spinning because if they aren't then the distributor doesn't spin and you don't get spark and if they don't spin then spark will be the least of your worries.
  • Coil, coil wire... I'm assuming you have current from the battery? On a car that old, it isn't that uncommon to have oil all over the place, which can keep the negative cable from making contact, depending on where it attaches to the frame or block.
  • While it can be the coil, I would check the igniter too.
