Help answer this question below.
I've seen a few illustrations from the 18th century showing a woman with a monocle, but it would have been an older woman, and probably an unconventional one.
Some famous women have worn a monacle but more as an eccentricity ,I believe.
Women tended more toward the Pinz Nez.
January 1, 1930, Life Magazine's cover featured a beautiful woman wearing a monacle.

I seem to recall either that literary lemon Radclyffe Hall or her wifey Una Troubridge wearing one in a photograph.
Women did wear the monocle but it was very rare..there was a veil designed to look like a a monocle in the 1940..

They also became popular among the stylish Lesbian circles in the early part of the 20th Century..
I've seen old pictures of women wearing them too. Gauging by the way they were dressed I would say they were women of wealth though. +5

You're reading Did women ever wear a monocle or was it just men?

Yes, I bet. I'd love to see an older photo like that. I wonder if it was considered the rebellious kind of thing to do, like smoking? Thanks, Nuttsky.
