-No evidence of a higher being. -Bad christian/church experiences. -So many beliefs that who knows what the real one is. -Easier just to be an atheist. -Christians/muslims/jews are 'weird'. ..

Because they can't see or hear him in his true form. That talking through people bullsh*t and seeing him through other thing is crap.

Lack of evidence.

I'm being totally honest here. I don't want to admit that things I enjoy doing are sin.

There is no evidence of the existence of one (or two, or a dozen, or more). There are hundreds of thousands of conflicting gods and ideas of gods out there - no agreement whatsoever. I can't unlearn what I've learned about the development of religions and the concept of gods.
-
No evidence at all ..only Myths and Legends and Fairy tales made up and written by Man

It would be very inappropriate to believe in something without evidence. An honest person who is committed to the truth should treat all such claims as suspect until there's sufficient reason to believe otherwise.

A belief in a higher being requires a leap of faith, and I do not have the kind of "faith" required. I prefer to pin my "beliefs" on things that can be proven by empirical evidence. They haven't invented a higher being that I am willing to give my allegiance to. The most popular, current one, just doesn't present the kind of image I'm looking for.

This belief in a higher being seems to indicate you know for a fact there is one. I am not privy to all the evidence however, I have done my own research into it and reexamined the beliefs I had held for so long (Methodist) that when I was done, I found no reason to believe. . #1 Complexity of life is not evidence to the existence of a higher being because that would make the higher being needing a higher being himself, forcing a paradox which can never be answered. Which higher being should we worship? . #2 Generally speaking, people are liars. Even if they don't think so because they are basing their information off someone or something else. There are perspectives to every argument and there were no doubt plenty of skeptical perspectives with regards to any of the religions when they were born. . #3 They all generally rely on faith. To me, faith is not much more than hope, except it's a hope that is treated as fact. Kind of like saying I'm going to hit the jackpot on the lottery. I hope I do, but to assume it's true is foolish. . #4 There are sometimes answers that will never be found, or at least not in our respective life times. . #5 There is no more reason to pick one religion over another. Since there is none and they all basically believe in some sort of higher power, it gives me reason to believe they're all wrong. For instance, why is it acceptable that Zeus was fake but god is real? . The bottom line is I refuse to believe in something with no evidence to back it up. I will not believe someone just because they wear a certain uniform or claim to know something I don't. If I did, I would probably have to pick the earliest known religion since everyone thereafter stole stories for their own belief systems. +3

Man seemingly overwhelmingly excited about his abilities I guess. This foolishness will end when he started getting weaker and helpless.

Someone could also ask: "Why do so many people believe in a higher being?" It's all the same, depending on the perspective.

I have never done any illegal drugs, there are tons of beings higher than me
