  • After the Oklahoma City Bombing. I didn't stop crying for days. I had a one-year old at home at the time and all I could thing about was, "What if something like that happened to him?" All those poor babies!!!! It makes me sad, just thinking of it now.
  • yes, there was. i've battled with depression before, but at some point, it got sooooo bad, even my doctor suggested i give up watching the news for a few months.
  • I don't stop following the news but I do stop following certain stories. When I feel that something is going on for far too long (court cases, wars) I honestly kind of lose interest. I also think that a lot of what you read or see in these instances is repetitive and retold simply to keep the story going. I also often feel that the details are a bit overkill. I couldn't care less what someone wore on Tuesday to their trial or how many times they looked at the jury or took notes. If I'm that interested, I'll buy the book that's sure to follow. I can see how some people may find that sometimes the news is depressing and I agree, it can be a bit of a let down however, I feel that it's important to stay on top of current events.
  • I used to watch the news religiously, then I suddenly determined that every time I did, I was extremely anxious and stressed out afterwards. I still try not to watch the news. I will listen to the radio, read the odd newspaper and very infrequently (about once every 2 weeks) I will watch. But it has been at least 10 years since I watched daily.
