While I'm usually the first to encourage people to go for their dreams, you have to realize that this could be a very unrealistic goal in your life. At 14 kids tend to look at over-publicized proffesions and strive to achieve the same. While it is possible you must be dedicated to becoming a NBA star. Continue to practice, get accepted into college and play college basketball, And if you proove yourself to NBA scouts you may achieve your dream. However I urge you to consider a "back-up" proffesion, something else more realistic to fall back on in case you can't achieve your dream. Good luck

It takes more than just practice. You have to have a love for the game. A love so great that you're going to the courts everyday. If you look at NBA players like Steve Nash who isn't a 7 foot monster you have to look at his skills. A superior ball handler. Knows where everyone is on the court at all times. Makes great decisions and makes his team mates better by him just being there.

thank you ill try that

First, forget about it....it's not gonna happen. Second, try to work on your grasp of sentence structure, so that you don't sound like a 14 yr old moron. Thanks, Kris

HK14 -- I admire your dream and have shared it at points in my life, but it probably is unrealistic. There are about 6 billion people in the world. There are about 300 NBA jobs. That makes your odds about 1 in 200 million. In contrast, the odds of winning the California Super Lotto are about 1 in 20 million. Furthermore, unlike a skill like archery, or writing, or brain surgery, playing basketball at the NBA level requires 'freak of nature' athleticism. Even players perceived to be 'nonathletic' by NBA standards are excellent athletes by general population standards. Usually by the age of 12-14, such people have made themselves stand out among their peers. If you haven't done so yet in some sport, then you probably are not one of those 'freaks of nature'. I encourage you to continue playing basketball for the love of the game and the physical exercise it provides, but I think you're best served by setting your career sights elsewhere. Good luck. . . .
