"They're my kids, back off" +5 Lynn

I'd tell her in a nice and quiet tone that these are YOUR kids , NOT hers ... Let her know that she raised her own kids and YOU will raise yours as YOU see fit .... and that this is of NO concern to her ... Get the boundries set now ; or SHE will tke over your life and kids ... +5

I only had to tell my mother in law once - "They have survived my awful treatment so far - I think they are doing OK!"

Tell your husband to take his mother home if she can't respect your mothering. Let the children have fun :-)

"Shush up muther."

Try to be calm. Tell her that you will always welcome her advice about raising your kids. But tell her that you also reserve the right to ignore that advice, because they are your children, not hers.

Oh, I can so relate. You have to be firm and set the boundaries with her. These are your kids, not hers. She is to treat you with respect or she is not allowed in your home. Period.
