I would be more hurt if my husband visited a postitute. For me, visiting a prostitute is just immoral. In most cases it is taking advantage of somebody who has been thrown a bad lot. I wouldn't be with a man who I thought would see a prostitute. So it would be a double insult to me to find out that only had he cheated, but he had used someone while doing it.

well i think the latter is worse. visiting prostitutes shows that he either has unfulfilled sexual needs or something along those lines. having an affair can be much more emotional for him and can be a lot worse for all parties involved. but that's just my opinion :)

What's the difference? Trust me, it takes a lot to visit a prostitute. It takes a lot to have an affair. There's numerous opportunities to stop, chances to change your mind. It's the whole process that goes behind it. I think I'd be more disturbed by the prostitutes. I could perhaps understand the reason for an affair, if things weren't going well at home, but there's no love involved with prostitutes. I'm not judging anyone else who chooses that, but if it were my husband then I'd be troubled by the idea of him resorting to such a loveless physical act.

No, it's very easy to get into it and from them will get (STD sexually transmitted disease, like syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and herpes, are definitely transmitted through. Once husbands or anybody started to go to prostitutes house or having an affair with many sex partners, they never ever going to be the same person they used to be. They became more addict to sex, violent and abusive on their families or on loved ones. They are going to messing up nice relationships, breaking family relationships, they will neglect you, don't respect you, starting to cheat on more & more on you, lie to you and lie on you too and so many things will change in a persons life, also their behaviour will change too.(I seen in my husband and boyfriends behaviour). Also I heard that they will bring diseases from not only prostitutes also from strange people too. Careful and watch out

If I had to choose, I would say its worse for him to go to a prostitute. If he has fantacies he feels he must have through any means than I know our relationship is lost for sure. If he has an affair than there is the chance it could've come out of desperation, out of a need that I may still be able to meet or even out of loneliness. With consoling we may be able to work things out, and he is someone who still equates love with sex. The first guy would never understand that sex should come with love.

I personally would be pissed of if my husband cheated on me with a prostitute, and hurt if he had an affair. I would also really doubt his morals if he is capabable of (maybe) taking advantage of a someone in a fucked up situation.

prostitutes. it's like the analogy of the frog and the pot of water.... an affair slowly builds until it catches him off guard... a prostitute is a concious choice to stay in clearly boiling water. not to mention the higher chance of disease. either way pretty close to unforgivable.

If I HAD to choose, I think I'd rather him have an affair than visit a prostitute. Both are pretty bad, though.

Well both are not a good choice. An affair is something done behind someone's back, I assume you mean visiting prostitutes without consent. I would say both are terribly offensive but I would think prostitutes since they are more likely to carry STD's due to the volume of people they service. Though the women they have the affair with still have the possibility of carrying STD's.

Im of the opinion that either way its a huge slap in the face. I guess if I had to choose it would be an affair since not only are you cheating physically but emotionally as well. At least with the hooker its nothing personal, you just want to get your rocks off. Either way your a worthless bastard for doing it though.

Both are deal breakers. I could probably understand an affair as their would be an emotional attachment and I realize that people do fall in love. No excuse for it but I do realize it happens. A prostitute is worse on several levels. If your so hard up you can't control your urges maybe you should talk to your S/O. I would rather take care of it than have my BF out picking up some nasty hooker which brings me to the next issue which is disease. If I caught something from someone who was screwing hookers I would either kill or pull a Lorena Bobbit. There's no excuse for that. If you're that hard up either talk to your GF or take care of it youself (I know you can do it)
