No, When he was nominated for the peace prize, he was only in office for 12 days, because the deadline for nominations was soon after he was sworn in as President.
-
No, he doesn't even deserve the Presidency.
-
Even HE didn't think so.
-
NOBODY "deserves" it . The nobel peace prize is a bullshit feelgood award that has nothing to do with merit. Like most awards based on subjective and nebulous criteria, people who dislike the person will cry they don't deserve it and and those who support that person will claim it is well desrved. Looking at the people who responded "no", every singel one of them so far hates Obama with a passion and would say he did not deserve it no matter what.
-
Of course not!
-
No, I still don't know how he got it.
-
I'm no Obama fan, but I think it was a political set-up He didn't do anything to deserve it, and if he doesn't live up to it, he's screwed I would have had more respect for him if he broke with tradition (he is the change man after all) and refused it
-
Yup. And so do I for that matter.
-
Nope he didn't and this has been asked at least 4 times that I am aware of. +4
-
LOL!
-
NO he does not. I was so shocked when he recieved it as Im sure millions thought the same thing.
-
Perhaps he does. But I still haven't figured out why.

What could he possibly have done in 11 days to merit the nobel peace prize? From what I've read in the foreign press, no one anywhere thinks he deserved it.
-
No. It's a blatant attempt of the Europeans on the prize committee to suck up to him. He should decline it. +5
-
yes he is the one who deserves it according to my opinion.
-
No he doesn't. Now his being nominated 12 days after election is irrelevant. Why? Because so many seem to equate such with his getting it then. They've had months to choose amongst the candidates. So essentially 12 days or 12 minutes before the deadline is irrelevant. It's just another half truth that has no bearing one way or another. It would've been better to wait and see what he does for the next couple of years before making a decision. It's Nobel Prize butt kissing.
-
I think those who elected him do. It's a great step for the US to elect a man who couldn't have pee'd in a public toilet in some states only 40 or 50 years ago. But Barack himself? Whatever his accomplishments may end up being, he hasn't done anything to deserve it yet.
-
yes but not for what he's doing for being the ventrilaquests dummy he is being used for in world relations after the damage geortge w bush caused
-
For what? No, he didn't earn it.
-
No. It is a transparent attempt by western intellectuals to deliberately create a great black leader for the history books, as if such things will be sufficient to delete racism from history.
-
Absolutely. Finally Obama took his rightful place between Jimmy Carter and Yasser Arafat.
-
NO.
-
Nope
-
No, he doesn't. That ahole that shouted "liar" at him while he remained composed and centered, that guy should get it. Obama is a great example of leadership in the face of morons. That deserves a prize right there.
-
Sure, he does. And I deserve one too, and so do you and so does Bush and so does Osama Bin Laden, we can also give one to Stalin and Lenin, they deserve it. Let's not forget about Hitler and Mousalini (sp?). Awe screw it, Nobel Peace prizes for all!!!
-
Nope according to US citizens http://english.aljazeera.net/news/americas/2009/12/2009121004935469515.html
-
In his acceptance speech Obama said there are "others who deserve it more". Do you think he means Tony Blair, the European Union Peace Envoy, or someone else?
-
NO!!!!
-
Although he has tried to hold out the 'hand of friendship' in the world, it still seems strange that the Nobel Peace Prize is being awarded to the Commander- in -Chief of two wars in the Middle East.
-
Why not? It's THE award to have for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
