    You can elect to delay your first required minimum distribution until April 1 of the following year.

    The age for Minimum Required Distributions from the account is indeed 70 1/2 but some plans do allow people to defer their MRD if they are still working. You would want to consult your specific plan information on this matter.

    yes, by law you must start withdrawing something from this account. It could be five dollars monthly but one does have to start drawing down on the account
