Help answer this question below.

My 2003 Grand Am keeps losing speed on the highway. The speed will suddenly just start dropping and when I press on the gas it won't go. Someone help me PLEASE!!!!! I've been to 3 different shops and they can't find the problem.

    my 03 grandam had a recall on the accelorater. have you checked with pontiac for recall info?

    When was the last time you cahnged your fuel filter? a filthy fuel filter will starve the engine for fuel, causing something similar to what you are describing.

    My husband is having the same problem and the garage we called said it sounds like it could be the PCV system.

    Have them take a look at the catayltic converter. They will clog and if your engine cannot bretahe it won't go. Sometimes shops do not venture into this area. If you have a distinct rotten egg (sulphur smell) therein lies your problem. Mr Bill

    Hmm, I had a similiar incident with my accord, check the transmission. If not that, then possibly the alternator which starts up the engine. Maybe it's died out?
