there are many good reasons to own a set of encyclopedias. they dont operate on electricity...no batteries, portable. lots of copyrighted material not avail online. the reading is the same. sets of encyclopedias are cheap these days.

why pay for it when you get get it for free and it's a lot faster to look something up on here then to flip through pages of dust collecting books! I still see the sales guys around once a year when they bring me my new phone book :)
