Why say anything. Just mail them. People don't know they are from last year, or could they?

Print out this question, shrink it and include in card.

Unless you dated the cards ..... why not simply go ahead an use them as they are, as there is no need to make a label, compose an excuse, etc., etc. WHO is going to know they are from last year?!

I'm not sure I understand. You want to mail out last year's Christmas cards? Can't you just mail them out in time for this year's Christmas? Why do you need a label? Do they all say "2008" or something? If so, maybe just cover up that part with a label that says "2009." I don't think it's a good idea to send Christmas cards out late, after Christmas. I don't think I'd be pleased to receive one ... at worst I'd feel a little insulted, at best it would be irrelevant (untimely). You'd be calling unnecessary attention to your failure to send them out. "Better late than never" doesn't apply in a situation regarding a voluntary act that can happen every single year: just cut your losses and try harder next year. Edit: I see from comments that there's no date but there's a picture of your family, so many people would know they're from last year. Well, I wouldn't bother including an explanation. So what if the picture's a year old? Unless you've had a baby in the last year, it's still a picture of your family. The people who'll know it's old will know, the people who won't, wont. Leave it be, that's my suggestion.
