Question

Help answer this question below.

I was going to take my driving permit test this summer, but I didn't. I got all of the papers and the learners booklet. If I take my permit test within a few months(May), will the booklet still be valid/up to date for the test I'm going to take?

Simply call your local DMV and ask them if the book that you have is current. Surely they would know. You might can even e-mail your states DMV online with the question!

Depends on the state you are in.

Usually the driver's hand book and test doesn't change that much and while you are standing in line at the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) you can quickly scan the test book to note any changes - mostly, or usually it is additional stuff like here in California the law was changed reflecting a need for headlights when you have to use your wipers.

However I would suggest you slip down to the DMV and get a new book at least a fortnight (2 weeks) prior to taking your test just to make certain you are up to date on all things.

Good luck and drive carefully ! :)
