Help answer this question below.
A web site is great to narrow down your driving all over the place...locally or even out of state..but ultimately you will be better informed as to a particular dog's temperament when you go VISIT the dogs!
Many Shelters/pounds do have their own websites for you to see what's currently available.
Also if you would like to consider a particular breed, there are often Breed Specific Rescue groups that have websites with adoptable dogs on them.
Google is your friend...Thank you so much for wanting to adopt a dog that needs a real home! Mutt or purebred, puppy or adult...you are opening your home and heart to the most perfect love that exists!
Here is a good website where you can see a few different breeds of dogs. If you click on it everyday you help to feed the animals for free→

Try searching for a breed you might be interested in and visit that club or registry's website for their rescue association.
There is also
http://www.adoptapet.com/
http://www.dogadoptionnetwork.org/
But I like looking locally better. A local rescue organization can be very helpful AND supportive, more than the adoption places.

My 8 week old puppy has been wormed 2 weeks in a row. It still has live (squirming) roundworms. Why would he still have worms?

You're reading I'm looking to adopt a dog. Do you know of a website besides craigslist and petfinder that I would be able to look on for dogs that i might want owner or shelter?
