  • Yes, but only if one takes those thing seriously. I don't. I didn't notice when I became "sage", and when by accident I happened to notice that I had reached that level, it made no difference whatever.
  • Hi, Blessed, are you aware of a user doing that? I would go over there and congratulate. I was happy when people threw a party for me for the same reason.
  • Yeah, it is really sad. What a loser. +5
  • No. When they reach that level, why shouldn't they get the points from their own party?
  • Not to offend any AB members, but I am amazed at how important the points and levels are to so many. I have yet to figure out what difference the points or levels makes in the question or answers? Well, maybe it's just me, but I don't understand it.
  • I would never do that for myself ... but some people just like to announce things like that. If it's important to them ... I say go for it. Unfortunately, people don't always catch things like that for others.
  • ...my answer may surprise you. I learned quite awhile back, if something is important to you (like getting a birthday card...a party...a valentine, whatever) then instead of not saying anything & being depressed or upset about it...tell someone what you want & need...those that love you & care want you to be happy...so, if turning "sage" is significant to you...throwing a party is a great way to celebrate & keep yourself happy...because you are right...some don't notice points or status...but others do...there are zillions of reasons people are here on AB...so, this is just another viewpoint...one of the reasons I like AB. You are great, Blessed...& being a COAT makes AB a happier place to be...hey! We should throw a COATS party!!!!
