Yes. This is only if you have MS Word 2007. Tools--Options---Security tab---its right in there. :)
With the document open go to the Tools > Options menu.
Select the 'Save' tab.
Look at the bottom of the tab and you will see that you can not only require a password to open the document, but you can also require a password to modify it.
Type in the password(s) and click OK.
