I dont watch football(soccer), but why do I feel awkward everytime I mention it in the midst of people? They call it the game that unites the world...Does that mean am not socially viable...

Not liking football has nothing to do with you being socially anything.. at all. You have different tastes, and that is something beautiful and unique. As a person who is the only one who doesn't like football(american) in my shop, I can relate. And yes, it may be tough because you will be secluded maybe in some things, but thats fine! Live your life and I wish you the best.
