We finally have a president with a conscience. I still believe he'll get things turned around. Overall, however, I don't trust elected officials to do anything other than tell lies and give their friends jobs they're not qualified for.

Their very first priority is looking after themselves, re-election. Hopefully they can work some portion of the people's best interests into that.

Thats funny because it took me decades to truly understand what is best for me. How could I expect someone a thousand miles away to have any idea whats in my best interests?

They are mostly in it for the money.I cannot think of any politician from councilman to the president that has followed through with their promises. They are swayed by(community wise)by local business, and in Washington by big business(wall street)

Those who try to do that get kicked out of their party toot sweet. So if they want to survive they "play ball" with the power structure and the power structure is always out for its own survival and doesn't give a rat's a** about we the people! :(

I think some do. I served 9 years in elected office and I like to think I did.
