LATE EDIT: I've been informed that HD-DVD has been abandoned. However, I am perfectly happy with standard DVDs for now. When my current DVD player breaks, I'll replace it with a Blu-Ray compatible one.

No. Only recently bought a HD Dvd player ~ not that we get a superior image than our previous non HD dvd player - 'cos our TV is about 20 years old and on it's last legs.

That's a movie player, right? I wouldn't even know how to go about buying one of those things, yet alone knowing what to do with it after whatever it is you do to them to get them ready to play a blu movie.

Tivo allows me to get netflix, and streaming movies. My has TV is wifi and does the same thing. Do I need a wifi bluray player too?

Just bought an HP dv7 w/ blu-ray and some movies load fine... others load and the screen turns black. HELP! (HP Media Smart is uptodate)
