  • I do not believe the "Vast Majority" of Americans OPPOSE the Health Care Bill ... The 'Vast majority" of Americans do not even have any type of Health care; so this would HELP THEM ... It might not be the GREATEST plan that they could have come up with ; BUT has anyone came up with anything better ? NO ! +5
  • Because they want power. If you control a person's health care you control all of that person. It has nothing to do with the uninsured, so called "greedy" insurance companies, the price of health care, fair competition, or any other thing they have lied about. It is all about taking over the control of our daily lives.
  • It's not about health care! It's about control, if Obama can get the general public on the government health care rolls and private insurance companies are forced out then the far left liberals in this country gain control. Think about it can you imagine trying to stop welfare right now, that would be political suicide, well it will be the same with health care, and once it is in place something like that is almost impossible to stop.
  • It's simple...... people dont know whats best for them. Thats why we elect, supposedly, better people to make these decisions & judgements on our behalf.
  • Perhaps the majority of Americans in your neck of the woods oppose it - all 100 of you. But the rest of the country pretty much wants it. This bill puts the insurance companies on the ropes. They're the ones with the money and so they're the ones who have been publicly and very vocally against it. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with it. You don't participate in the plan if you have your own insurance. In that case, you REALLY don't have to worry about the bill. BUT IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE INSURANCE, NOW YOU WILL. Why are people still bitching?
  • Perhaps because your President was elected with a mandate to do just that, which would imply that a majority of Americans do want health care reform.
  • Because the majority of REAL Americans want it.
  • It seems most people want not only health care reform but also the public option. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/19/AR2009101902451.html?hpid=topnews
  • It is important not to confuse wanting 'better, cheaper, or more accessible' health care with wanting whatever half-assed destructive plan comes out of Washington.
  • Firstly, I'm pretty sure that most Americans don't know what's good for them. I'm sure that any middle or lower class person who consistently votes Republican either doesn't know what he's voting for and/or simply stopped thinking and just votes out of habit. Also, I'm pretty sure that the majority of Americans not only want a public insurance option, but also want health care reform. They just don't want the reform that Congress has been kicking around lately.
  • The majority want it. The majority of neo-cons don't, but they don't count because they won't stop complaining.
  • I'm guessing you are among those who believe that Fox is a "news" channel. The only polls that conclude that the majority of Americans oppose reform are hatchet jobs funded for political causes or by the industry seeking to preserve its runaway profits. Independent polls show the public is about evenly divided on current proposals and strongly supports a public option.
  • The majority of Americans hadn't voted for Bush the second time, but you know how that goes.
  • That's false, plain and simple. Numerous recent reports show that support FOR health care reform, INCLUDING a public option is in the majority, around 57% http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/19/AR2009101902451.html http://abcnews.go.com/PollingUnit/Politics/obama-health-care-abc-news-washington-post-poll/story?id=8863442 http://www.news-medical.net/news/20091001/5725-of-Americans-believe-that-tackling-health-care-reform-is-more-important-than-ever-Kaiser-poll.aspx http://www.reuters.com/article/Washington09/idUSTRE59J57P20091020
